Fighting Gravity Fitness is The Commonwealth of Virginia’s first Christopher Harrison's AntiGravity Fitness® Studio. AntiGravity Fitness® is a unique combination of Yoga, Pilates, and Gymnastics. It allows you to stretch further and hold challenging poses longer by utilizing the Christopher Harrison Anti-Gravity® Hammock.
The hammock is a fabric that hangs at two points from the ceiling acting like a swing and is designed to hold 1000 pounds.
The unique combination of exercises, as a sequence, is intended to decompress the spine and align the body from head to toe while stretching and strengthening one’s muscles, all while putting a smile on your face and having the best experience you have had in a fitness class in a long time.

Not only do we offer the most fun AntiGravity classes, we offer a wide variety of other fitness classes too. We have classes that have Cardio and Strength Training like “Guns, Buns and 6 Packs”, and Barre classes, Yoga for Stretching and Relaxation, and Zumba, and Werq for the dance lovers. You get more “Bang For Your Buck” at this friendly studio!
If no one is registered for a class, the class will be cancelled 30 minutes before class is to begin. PREREGISTRATION IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR FIRST ANTIGRAVITY® CLASS AT
FIGHTING GRAVITY FITNESS
THE ANTIGRAVITY® CLASS HAS LIMITED AVAILABILITY AND SELLS OUT FREQUENTLY.
Arrive Early. Come 10 minutes prior to class to fill out your paperwork, meet your teacher and get measured for your hammock. If you arrive late, you may forfeit your hammock to stand-by client.
Dress Comfortably. Choose active-wear designed for movement and comfort. For AntiGravity® classes in particular, wear a shirt with sleeves to prevent any discomfort under the arms and help keep the hammocks clean. No tank tops in AntiGravity classes, please!
LATE CANCEL/NO SHOW POLICY: DUE TO THE HIGH DEMAND OF THIS CLASS, CANCELLATIONS MADE LESS THAN 2 HOURS BEFORE THE CLASS STARTS WILL BE ASSESSED A CANCELLATION FEE EQUIVALENT TO THE CURRENT SALES PRICE OF A SINGLE DROP-IN SESSION UNLESS WE CAN FILL YOUR SPACE WITH SOMEONE FROM THE WAIT-LIST. IF YOUR SPACE CAN BE FILLED ON SUCH SHORT NOTICE, YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED; HOWEVER, NO-SHOWS WILL BE ASSESSED THIS CANCELLATION CHARGE- NO EXCEPTIONS.
NO JEWELRY !- Help us to preserve our Harrison Antigravity® Hammocks. Please remove all jewelry, watches, hair clips or anything that will snag the cloth hammocks.
Contraindications: Avoid Inversions: Pregnancy, glaucoma, recent surgery (esp. shoulder, eyes, back, hips, hands or wrist), heart disease, very high or low blood pressure, easy onset vertigo, or motion sickness, osteoporosis / bone weakness, recent head injury, cerebral sclerosis, propensity for fainting, carpal tunnel syndrome, severe arthritis, sinusitis or head cold, hiatal hernia, disc herniation or acute disco genic disease, recent stroke, artificial hips, Radiculitis (inflammation of nerve root in spine), severe muscle spasms, botox injections (within 6 hours)
ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE at least 3 ANTIGRAVITY FUNDAMENTALS(Beginner) classes before moving on the other AntiGravity classes(I.E. ANTIGRAVITY YOGA, ANTIGRAVITY PILATES, ANTIGRAVITY SUSPENSION FITNESS, ect.)
FOR YOUR SAFETY, MINIMUM AGE 13; MUST ATTEND WITH PARENT. MINORS 16 AND OVER MAY ATTEND WITHOUT PARENT; HOWEVER PARENTAL CONSENT MUST TO GIVEN WITH OUR WAIVER PRIOR TO ATTENDING CLASS.

Audrey is a very energetic, dedicated and wonderful fitness instructor/trainer. She offers a variety of classes that keeps you interested in working out everyday and I've attended most of them like the barre, Zumba, cardio, abs, yoga, anti gravity etc. I not only lost weight but also learned the correct and safe technique. She's the only one in town who offers Anti Gravity classes which is an excellent, unique exercise and a must try for everyone!

"Audrey is a fantastic instructor, energetic, knowledgeable, and receptive to her student’s goals and limitations. She is constantly getting trained in new courses and seeking new ways to make her classes more exciting, accessible, and fun. When I first signed up for anti-gravity classes I was having some serious back pain issues as well as wrist and knee pain that fluctuated in intensity and kept me from continuing to do yoga. The support of the hammocks enabled me to do those yoga poses previously prohibitive because of my wrists, eliminated my back pain, and made working out an enjoyable and safe new adventure. The soothing and centering effect of the last part of the anti-gravity classes, the Cocoon which is equivalent to the Sava Sana yoga pose was incredible in the hammock and the playfulness of the more acrobatic like exercises in it were empowering in building physical strength and confidence while exploring one's limits and recovering the flexibility of childhood. In addition to her anti-gravity courses, I took barre, abs, and Zumba classes with Audrey and thoroughly enjoyed them.
